Picasa Web Album Goes Unlimited Via Google +

Do you want unlimited space to store your photos. Is it possible? why not?
Picasa still has the 1 GB specification as if you see the FAQ page but if you use  Google + to upload the pictures instead of directly uploading it to the web server via you computer then your picture wont be a part of the 1 GB space. Instead it would be counted as free. So indirectly this is unlimited storage on the picasa web albums for all those who tend to go ahead for the services of Google +.

So you are you waiting start to upload pictures via google +

Google Plus Power Users Doing Less Tweeting

I then looked at a couple of examples of Google Plus power users, both of whom had previously been avid Twitter users.
The most enthusiastic and prolific Google Plus user on the RWW team is our Lead Writer and VP Content Dev, Marshall Kirkpatrick. I thought it would be interesting to look at Marshall's Twitter stats, to see if he has decreased his usage of Twitter.
Google Plus launched on June 28, and Marshall was immediately hooked. Since that time there has been a noticeable dip in Marshall's Twitter activity - although he still does over 20 tweets a day fairly regularly (note: the May figures are low because he was in Brazil at that time). Here is his TwitterCounter chart for the past few months:

Marshall himself feels like he has been publishing to Twitter less, "because I get so much more conversation on Plus." This is a common theme that I've been hearing too, that the discussions on Google Plus are lively and interesting.
However, Marshall also noted that he still watches Twitter "as closely as ever," citing the ecosystem of apps set up for listening - such as TweetDeck.
The decrease in Twitter activity is more pronounced in another early Google Plus convert, Digg founder and geek rock star Kevin Rose (who provoked a debate when he re-directed his personal website to his Google Plus profile). The below chart from TwitterCounter shows a marked decrease in Kevin's tweeting since Google Plus launched.

What Is Google +1

What Is Google +1
You’re on your Facebook page and you see the pictures of two cars (car A and car B) as updates by your friends. Car A is “liked” by 10 people, but car B is “liked” by 200. Without giving it much thought, you will most probably click on the photo of car B; this is how Google’s new +1(plus one) does its job.
How did Google start socializing?
The past few years have seen all kinds of explosions in the area of “social”. Facebook being the most powerful were followed by others like Twitter. Google wanted to break into this social realm as well. So it launched, “Google buzz”. Google buzz was intended to be a platform to share your thoughts, social activities as well as photos, music and videos using your Google account as the medium.
Unfortunately for Google, no matter how hard they tried, Google buzz didn’t “buzz” as much as they had hoped it would.
This gave birth to Google’s +1(plus one), which is similar to the “like” option in Facebook.
How does it work?
A small transparent plus one button will appear near your search results (log into your public Google account first), when you click on it, it should turn blue; this indicates that you have +1’d that particular link, it will appear on a new tab in your account which keeps a record of the various things online that you have +1’d (the plus one tab).
You can keep this tab public or private as per your choice. When you plus one something, you say to the world “hey this is cool, come have a look.”
It also helps you find things in search by counting the number of “+1s” a site or advertisement has received. The number of “+1s” a site gets indicates its popularity.
For example, let us take a case of a site based on gardening. If there are 200 people who have +1’d the site along with a friend (XYZ) of yours; it will be displayed below as – “XYZ along with 199 others +1’d this link”
How does “+ 1” help Google?

Note: Google search is a not a living thing with independent thought and thus cannot understand the complexity of human connection and perceptions. Google +1 helps to quantify the process by calculating the number of plus ones a site receives and thus improves the accuracy of its search.
The Google +1, just like the Facebook “like” will be posted inside sites and on various advertisements making the task of our daily searching a very socially engaging concept.
In order to optimize its searches Google uses its “farmers algorithm update” also called as the “panda algorithm update.” This paired with +1 will yield the best possible searches.

Google Releases Minor Update to Google Plus App for Android

Google Releases Minor Update to Google Plus App for Android
Although Google Plus is still in field trial testing and has just been officially launched recently, it has already acquired a very big following worldwide. One of the perks about Google Plus is that Google launched it with a native app that, for now, runs only on Android devices with Android 2.1 Eclair or higher. And, being a native app, it is expected to integrate smoothly with Google Plus and other Google services.
Just this week, Google released a minor update to the Google Plus app. “Minor,” however, is a relative term, since the update resolves one major source of annoyance that has plagued the earlier version of the app: login issues for users having multiple GMail accounts. The bug fix, it seems, is the only “big” thing about the recent update, which also puts a new profile icon on the menu screen and some minor refinements to the user interface.
If you’re one of the lucky ones who already have access to Google Plus, check out the updated Google Plus app for Android so that, using your Android phone, you can start having group chats with Huddle, organize your contacts in Circles (and share stuff with them), upload your photos and videos from your Android phone, and tune in to the latest updates from your Circles.
Have you tried Google Plus yet? Is it better than Facebook?

How To Use Google+ For Your Job Search

How To Use Google+ For Your Job Search
Google+ hit 20 million unique visitors this week, and the company launched a mobile app. The stats are impressive, but the new social network has room to grow in catching up with its massive competitors Twitter and Facebook.

Google+ hasn’t hit a mainstream audience yet, but it does seem to be romancing the tech geeks with strong force. Yes, I’m talking about you, fellow gplus forum readers. Early adopters, social influencers, tech innovators, digital natives — call yourselves what you will. The bottom line is, you understand the value of digital tools and how they can connect you to people and ideas all over the world.
With so many influential techies flocking to Google+, it’s a great place to showcase expertise and learn from others. Here are some tips for using Google+ for your job search.

Announce Your Availability

Once your profile is completely filled out, and you’ve begun growing and interacting with your network, don’t be shy about letting your contacts know you’re on the prowl for work.
This could be as subtle as mentioning it in the “About” section of your Google+ profile, or as public as posting an update to announce that you’re looking for new challenges on the career front. If you choose the latter, be original with your post and how you frame it. Try not to sound hopeless — make sure you are confidently communicating your unique skill set and the value you can add to a project or company.

Organize Contacts with Circles

For the purposes of seeking a job, it’s important to denote which Circles you want to see your messages when you post. If you’re posting about your job search, it makes sense to include your industry contacts — which you might put into “Social Media” or “Tech” Circles, for example — but that same post might not be as relevant to your “Friends” or “Family,” where a more personal post may be more appropriate.
On the flip side, make sure you’re not sharing unprofessional content with your business network. As usual, just use common sense when dealing with privacy and sharing settings.

Introducing the Google+ project: Real-life sharing

Introducing the Google+ project: Real-life sharing

Among the most basic of human needs is the need to connect with others. With a smile, a laugh, a whisper or a cheer, we connect with others every single day.

Today, the connections between people increasingly happen online. Yet the subtlety and substance of real-world interactions are lost in the rigidness of our online tools.

In this basic, human way, online sharing is awkward. Even broken. And we aim to fix it.

We’d like to bring the nuance and richness of real-life sharing to software. We want to make Google better by including you, your relationships, and your interests. And so begins the Google+ project:

+Circles: share what matters, with the people who matter most
Not all relationships are created equal. So in life we share one thing with college buddies, another with parents, and almost nothing with our boss. The problem is that today’s online services turn friendship into fast food—wrapping everyone in “friend” paper—and sharing really suffers:

* It’s sloppy. We only want to connect with certain people at certain times, but online we hear from everyone all the time.
* It’s scary. Every online conversation (with over 100 “friends”) is a public performance, so we often share less because of stage fright.
* It’s insensitive. We all define “friend” and “family” differently—in our own way, on our own terms—but we lose this nuance online.

In light of these shortcomings we asked ourselves, “What do people actually do?” And we didn’t have to search far for the answer. People in fact share selectively all the time—with their circles.

From close family to foodies, we found that people already use real-life circles to express themselves, and to share with precisely the right folks. So we did the only thing that made sense: we brought Circles to software. Just make a circle, add your people, and share what’s new—just like any other day:

+Sparks: strike up a conversation, about pretty much anything
Healthy obsessions inspire sharing, and we’ve all got one (or two, or three...). Maybe it’s muscle cars, or comic books, or fashion, but the attraction is always the same: it comes up in conversation, we immediately jump in, and we share back and forth with other fans. Often for hours. The trick is getting things started, and getting over that initial hump. Fortunately, the web is the ultimate icebreaker.

The web, of course, is filled with great content—from timely articles to vibrant photos to funny videos. And great content can lead to great conversations. We noticed, however, that it’s still too hard to find and share the things we care about—not without lots of work, and lots of noise. So, we built an online sharing engine called Sparks.

Thanks to Google’s web expertise, Sparks delivers a feed of highly contagious content from across the Internet. On any topic you want, in over 40 languages. Simply add your interests, and you’ll always have something to watch, read and share—with just the right circle of friends:

+Hangouts: stop by and say hello, face-to-face-to-face
Whether it's inside a pub or on a front porch, human beings have always enjoyed hanging out. And why not? It's how we unwind, recharge, and spend unscheduled time with old and new friends alike. Hanging out is deceptively simple though, and the nuance gets lost online.

Just think: when you walk into the pub or step onto your front porch, you're in fact signaling to everyone around, “Hey, I've got some time, so feel free to stop by." Further, it’s this unspoken understanding that puts people at ease, and encourages conversation. But today’s online communication tools (like instant messaging and video-calling) don’t understand this subtlety:

* They’re annoying, for starters. You can ping everyone that’s “available,” but you’re bound to interrupt someone’s plans.
* They’re also really awkward. When someone doesn't respond, you don't know if they’re just not there, or just not interested.

With Google+ we wanted to make on-screen gatherings fun, fluid and serendipitous, so we created Hangouts. By combining the casual meetup with live multi-person video, Hangouts lets you stop by when you're free, and spend time with your Circles. Face-to-face-to-face:

+Mobile: share what’s around, right now, without any hassle
These days a phone is the perfect sharing accessory: it's always with you, it's always online, and it's how we stay close with our closest friends. We didn’t want “just” a mobile experience, however, so with Google+ we focused on things (like GPS, cameras, and messaging) to make your pocket computer even more personal.

+Location, location, location
In life, the places we visit shape conversations in lots of meaningful ways. If we call John from the airport, he’ll likely ask about our trip. Or if Jane texts from a nearby restaurant, we might join her for dessert. With Google+ you can add your location to every post. (Or not. It’s always up to you.)

+Instant Upload
Getting photos off your phone is a huge pain, so most of us don't even bother. Of course pictures are meant to be shared, not stranded, so we created Instant Upload to help you never leave a photo behind. While you're snapping pictures, and with your permission, Google+ adds your photos to a private album in the cloud. This way they're always available across your devices—ready to share as you see fit.

+Huddle
Coordinating with friends and family in real-time is really hard in real life. After all, everyone's on different schedules, in different places, and plans can change at any moment. Phone calls and text messages can work in a pinch, but they're not quite right for getting the gang together. So Google+ includes Huddle, a group messaging experience that lets everyone inside the circle know what's going on, right this second.

Starting today Google+ is available on Android Market and the mobile web, and it’s coming soon to the App Store.

+You: putting you first, all across Google
That’s the Google+ project so far: Circles, Sparks, Hangouts and mobile.

You and over a billion others trust Google, and we don’t take this lightly. In fact we’ve focused on the user for over a decade: liberating data, working for an open Internet, and respecting people’s freedom to be who they want to be. We realize, however, that Google+ is a different kind of project, requiring a different kind of focus—on you. That’s why we’re giving you more ways to stay private or go public; more meaningful choices around your friends and your data; and more ways to let us know how we’re doing. All across Google.

When your invite arrives we hope you’ll join the project. But it’s entirely up to +You.

About Circles

Google+ Circles helps you organize everyone according to your real-life social connections--say, 'family,' 'work friends,' 'music buddies,' and 'alumni'. Then, you can share relevant content with the right people, and follow content posted by people you find interesting. For example, you might post an announcement about your engagement and show it only to people in your friends and family circles, or maybe you see a post from the circle you created for your book club that there's a recent article on your favorite author.
You can also decide to customize your personal profile information for your circles. For example, your contact details, location, and relationship information would be visible to your friends circle, while your employment history and education would be visible to your alumni association circle.

Block someone

Block someone

To block someone:
  1. Go to their profile.
  2. On the side of the profile click Block [person's name].
  3. Confirm that you want to block that person.
You can also block someone by placing them in your Blocked circle while editing your circles, via the drop-down arrow at the top of one of their posts, or by clicking Block in a notification email you received from that person.
When you block someone:
  • You won't see their content in the stream or on Incoming (even though you'll remain in their circles).
  • They'll be removed from any circles of yours that they appear in.
  • They'll be removed from your extended circles even if you have mutual connections.
  • They won't be able to comment on your content that was posted after they were blocked.
  • They won't be able to view content shared with your circles (although they may still see content you post publicly).
  • They won't be able to mention you in posts or comments.
When you block someone, we won't proactively notify them. But since blocking someone limits the interactions that person can have with you, they may figure out that they've been blocked.

Removing people from your circles

Removing people from your circles
It's easy to change who's in your circles.
To remove someone from all of your circles:
  1. Click the Circles icon at the top of the page.
  2. Find the person who you want to remove and click on their name.
  3. Click Remove at the top of the window.
To remove someone from a specific circle:
  1. Click the Circles icon at the top of the page.
  2. Select the circle you want to remove the person from.
  3. Choose who you'd like to remove from the circle and click Remove. (You can also remove people from a circle by mousing over the circle and dragging their photo out.)
When you remove people from your circles, a confirmation will drop down from the top of the page indicating that the action was successful. You'll have the option to remove this person from your Google Contacts address book. (This may affect other devices that rely upon Google Contacts, like a mobile device.)
If you no longer want to interact with someone, you can block them. While this doesn't remove that person from your contacts, blocking someone will remove them from all your circles and limit the ways in which they can interact with you on Google+.

What to do if someone wants to connect with you on Google+

What to do if someone wants to connect with you on Google+

Did you get a notification that someone wants to connect with you on Google+? That means you've been added to a circle. Anyone can add you to one of their circles without your confirmation. If someone adds you to a circle, that person isn't automatically added to one of yours. But because you'll often know the person who adds you to a circle, you can easily place them in a circle as well (only if you want to).
When someone adds you to a circle, it won't give them additional access to your profile information. It may however make it easier for that person to take actions that generate notifications for you--like commenting on your posts or sharing with you directly. You can always adjust your notification settings if you're receiving too many notifications.
If you want to limit someone from interacting with you on Google+, you can block that person.

Who can see your circles

Who can see your circles

When you place people into circles, or when you share with your circles, we won't disclose the names of the circles people are in. People in circles that you share with may be able to see some of the others with whom that content was also shared. Learn more about seeing who a post was shared with.
Name and photos of people in your circles as well as people who have added you to their circles will show on the side of your profile.

People suggestions

People suggestions

On the side of the stream and on the Find and Invite tab, you may see suggestions for people Google+ thinks you might know. Suggestions could be generated by:
While viewing your suggestions in the stream, you can add suggested people to your circles by clicking Add to circles next to their name. If you don’t know a suggested person or if you don’t want to add them to a circle, mouse over the person's name and click the X.
You can view all of your suggestions at once by clicking Show all. This will take you to the Find and Invite tab where you can edit your circles.

Extended circles

Extended circles

When you share something in the stream, you might notice an option to share with your extended circles. Your extended circles are like your circles' circles. Content shared with your extended circles could appear in the Incoming stream of people who are one degree removed from you with certain conditions--namely that we’ll only include people whose association with people you know is already visible to you.
For example, let's say Nediva is in one of your circles, and Jadon is in one of Nediva's circles. You don't know Jadon and he's not in any of your circles. If Nediva chooses to have Jadon visible on her profile among the people in her circles, and you choose to share with your extended circles, your content could appear in both Nediva and Jadon's streams.
You aren't able to see a complete list of the people included in your extended circles--it's a collection of people that's frequently changing.

Delete a circle

Delete a circle
You can delete the default circles (Friends, Family, Acquaintances and Following) as well as the circles you create.
To delete a circle:
  1. Sign in to Google+ new window.
  2. Click your full name or email address in the Google+ bar, then click Edit circles.
  3. Click the circle you'd like to delete.
  4. Click Delete this circle.
  5. When you see the 'Delete circle?' prompt, click OK.
Your circles will also be deleted if you delete your Google Account.
When you delete a circle, everything previously shared with those people will no longer be visible on the Posts tab of your profile (unless you shared the same content with another circle they're in). The content will still be visible in the former circle members' streams.

Circles

You share different things with different people. So sharing the right stuff with the right people shouldn’t be a hassle. Circles makes it easy to put your friends from Saturday night in one circle, your parents in another, and your boss in a circle by himself - just like real life.

Hangouts

With Hangouts, the unplanned meet-up comes to the web for the first time. Let specific buddies (or entire circles) know you’re hanging out and then see who drops by for a face-to-face-to-face chat. Until teleportation arrives, it’s the next best thing.

Instant Upload

Taking photos is fun. Sharing photos is fun. Getting photos off your phone and on to the web is pretty much the opposite of fun. That’s why we created Instant Upload: so that from now on, your photos upload themselves. You don’t even have to say ‘cheese’.

Sparks

Remember when your Grandpa used to cut articles out of the paper and send them to you? That was nice. That’s kind of what Sparks does:

looks for videos and articles it thinks you’ll like, so when you’re free, there’s always something to watch, read, and share. Grandpa would approve.

Huddle

Texting is great, but not when you’re trying get six different people to decide on a movie. Huddle takes care of it by turning all those different conversations into one simple group chat, so everyone gets on the same page long before thumbs get sore.

Using Google+ Sparks to Find Content to Blog and Grow Your Traffic

Using Google+ Sparks to Find Content to Blog and Grow Your Traffic
g-plusOne of the features about the new Google+ social network is Sparks.
It has been said that Sparks needs to improve to become truly valuable and while there is a level of truth in that statement, I do think that the true power of Sparks lies in its simplicity and limited results, assuring that often the quality of the results seems to be very high. High also being based on less noise than when using Google Blog Search or Twitter Search.

Using Google+ Sparks

Making use of Google+ Sparks to find content is simple and very straightforward.
google-plus-sparks-1
When clicking on the Sparks link in the sidebar, the landing page shows you manually curated groups, Sparks, for popular topics.
After having searched for your preferred topic, you can now pin this ‘Spark’ to your sidebar.
google-plus-sparks-2
From now on you will see this Spark in your sidebar for easy access. Know that Google+ will collapse and only show the first 5 Sparks you added. The next ones will be hidden under the expand tab’.

Using your Google+ Profile to Grow Your Traffic

Besides finding topics to write about via Google+ Sparks, Sparks can also help you to grow your own Google+ profile and eventually traffic to your own blog. Thanks to Sparks it will be easy to promote relevant content on Google+.
Main tips to use your Google+ profile as a traffic generator is to not only publish your content. Also do share content of others, and do comment to the links you share.
google-plus-sparks-5
On Google+ there is ample opportunity to add commentary and even share topics with specific people, more than on Twitter. While you can ‘page’/ping people in your entries do not overdo and only ping people when your content is specifically targeted at them.
Sharing links on Google+ tends to get noisier than on other networks, please use the possibility to add commentary. Sharing links without commentary is much easier and faster on Twitter. ;)
Do not forget to share your own links BUT do not just share your own links. Avoid paging people when promoting your own content

Dell wants to use Google+ Hangouts for customer service

Dell wants to use Google+ Hangouts for customer service
Dell could soon use Google’s new group video chat platform Google+ Hangouts as an alternative to the traditional customer service call, according to the company’s chairman and CEO, Michael Dell. Hangouts has been hailed asthe next big killer app, and Michael Dell is obviously a fan as well. He’s used the video chat more than a dozen times since he joined Google+ in early July, and this Sunday, he posted the following question on Google+:
I am thinking about hangouts for business. Would you like to be able to connect with your Dell service and sale teams via video directly from Dell.com?
The reaction to his post was overwhelmingly positive, with hundreds of comments agreeing that this would be a good idea for Dell. And the idea is indeed intriguing: Some customer service needs are very similar, so having a service representative talk to a small group of customers at the same time could be more economical than the traditional one-on-one call. Using video could also humanize tech support, and group settings could even initiate self-help between customers. One should note that Dell’s idea of launching a Hangouts session directly from Dell.com isn’t currently possible; Google+ is still invite-only, and Hangouts can only be started or joined from within the network.
Google also hasn’t opened its social network for businesses yet, but the company is currently evaluating how to integrate brands and businesses into Google+.Customer service has been one of the applications that has made Twitter attractive to companies like Comcast.Having the ability to directly talk to customers via group video chat could be the next step for many of these companies as they look for ways to take customer service beyond the traditional call-center script.

Why Google Plus Might Be Better Than Facebook

Why Google Plus Might Be Better Than Facebook
Google+ is Google's next attempt at social networking, and although my invite hasn't arrived yet, everything I read about seems promising. It has a cleverer, and to my mind, better approach.... than Facebook. Here's a short list of factors that excite me:

(1) If you're already a Google person, it is integrated well with what you have. I have a Gmail account, Google calendar, use Google's Picasa for photo sharing, and I even have a Google voice number. Google Plus integrates all this stuff.

(2) Facebook's approach to the people in your social life is too digital -- they either ARE your friends, or they're not. Google’s Circles concept takes this into account. With Google Plus, you have concentric circles of "friends" -- some who have with whom you are willing to "share" more than others. This is a huge advantage over the Facebook approach where (it seems) every one of your friends (no matter how remote) has access to everything you do. But the Google Circles concept is also (if you think about it) more like life.

(3) Facebook is, and has always been, JUST Facebook, but Google is closely tied to Android. What does that mean -- better apps. That means Google Plus is likely to look and feel better at the cell phone level.

(4) Google is, of course, the search engine king, and the Google Spark concept is the search feature of Google Plus. Basically, it will help you find things to share better than Facebook, which doesn't "do" searches very well.

(5) Your personal data might be safer with Google Plus. Facebook is a young, fast moving company that has proved it to be cavalier in its movements, lacking in respect for user data privacy. Google on the other hand, is a far more mature company that is, I would argue, more trustworthy than Facebook.

(6) There is a privacy level in each piece of content of Google Plus. For example; when we create a photo album, or write an article, Google+ give us a choice to that send that content only for our choice people. Facebook does not do this.

(7) Facebook just announced a deal with Skype where they are bringing video chat to Facebook. Nice, but Google is ahead of Facebook on that front. Ad hoc group chatting is available.

Google + over Facebook

Google + over Facebook
CEO Larry Page kicked off his recent earnings conference call and described not only the financial data but some other notable figures as well: the number of Google Plus users, how much they’re sharing.

10 million Google Plus users
1 billion items a day are being shared on Google Plus
+1 Button is being served 2.3 billion times a day
Does this look like something that might be huge for your real estate business? I’d say so!
Let’s check out a few plus “es” of the new Google + service and look at some plugins and such.
How is Google + better or easier to use than Facebook?
  1. Google plus comments can be edited. How many times have you posted something to your group on Facebook only to realize that you have made a nasty typo.  Then you have to make another Facebook post to “correct” the mistake.  With Google + you can just edit a comment that you have made.
  2. Easily organize your people into “circles” on Google plus.  You can do this as you add new people into your Google + circles.  Facebook has groups, but they are “clunky” to use and most realtors struggle to define where people need to be.  One of my favorite features is that you can put people into more that one circle.  Like I have people who are in my “Real Estate Tech” group, but they may also be friends and I can put them in both circles.
  3. No Farmville.  I hope they never integrate “games” on Google+.  I really got to the point where I had to block all the people who were farming and doing Mafia wars and the like.  (Sorry Tony, that’s you).
If you liked this press the +1 button !
If you want a Google+ invitation just post to the comments below and we will send you one.

Google Plus users create collaborative how to manual

Google Plus users create collaborative how to manual
Google Plus users have joined forces to help new adopters learn the tool.

Over 120 people are writing a collaborative document that explains the social networking world’s newest phenomenon.

Using none other than a sharable, editable Google Document, editors are in the process of building out a complete and comprehensive guide to Google+.

The document explains features such as Circles, Sparks, and Huddles, offers tips on creative ways to use Circles, and contains a full list of answers to the millions of knowledge-hungry early adopters.

The document is currently available in English, but versions written in Chinese, German, and Russian are on the horizon.

Google+ debuted to impressive reviews. In just over two weeks, the social networking tool has spread to 10 million users, with others waiting in the wings for the test phase to be completed (if you’re on Google+ please add GlobalNews to your circle).

Google+ : Already 10 million people join Google plus with invite

Google+ : Already 10 million people join Google plus with invite
Google+, the Web search engine behemoth’s Facebook rival social networking site gets 10 million users in its first two weeks, says Larry Page, the CEO of Google. Indeed, 10 million may be nothing in front of Facebook’s 750 million users. But the rate of growth is much higher on the still-in-beta Google Plus.

Google launched its Plus social network site two weeks back with a number of incredible features. Sign-up to the limited trail version of the social media site is invite-only now. One can join the site only if an already-joined friend invites him/her.

“Growth on Google has been great,” the newly-appointed CEO and co-founder of Google said. “Over 10 million have joined. That's a great achievement for the team. There has been a ton of activity.”

According to Page, there are more than 1 billion status updates and 2.3 billion +1s on Google+ a day. +1 is Google+’s replay to Facebook’s famous ‘like’ button. At a whole, Google Plus has intensified the battle with Facebook.

The new CEO of Google is to restructure the company like a start-up. More products are launched and many less-effective products are closed during the last quarter, in which the company posted an income of $2.5 billion, up 36 % from Q2 of 2010.

“Today, I see more opportunities for Google than ever before; we're just at the beginning of what we want to do,” the energetic Page say. “We're only at 1 percent of what's possible. Google is just getting started.”
